#NuvoFoodies got hooked to The Angrezi Pub

Longest bar to beat the standards in Navi Mumbai, cocktails that stay with you longer than memory, food that makes you wonder and music that gets you happy – introducing The Angrezi Pub.

The new avatar of a long forgotten pub in the yesteryears, Angrezi Pub makes up for all that wasn’t available in Navi Mumbai. Just as the food menu often gets new attractions, music is taken very seriously, not literally of course. Live bands (playing indie rock), Latino nights, DJ nights (every Saturday) and lots of specials during the week, make this a livewire in the twin city!

Hitting the pub, our immediate endeavor was to hook up with some of their bar specials. So came in 42-43 degrees Cocktails at Angrezi Pub(bourbon based cocktail) – so perfect u might wanna drown in it. Our list got endless with other cocktails like Good Morning Angrezi (vodka & cucumber), Aja (vodka based & flavored with lemongrass), Watermelon Man (vodka). And then the Heart Attack – the strongest concoction that you can lay your hands on.




After great drinks, one just hopes that there is something to bite on. But the food was beyond expectations and startledAngrezi Pub golden phyllo bites us completely. Brocolli malai tikka didn’t make us miss chicken malai tikka, Golden Phyllo bites were little delights, Chingari chicken wings were juicy, Chow Chow prawns were fought over. This and lots more got our palates tickled asking for more!

#NuvoFoodies got a sneak peek into the new menu at Pot Pourri

Great food has always been a given at Pot Pourri. And when they decided to refresh the menu with interesting elements and fusion, we couldn’t stop heading there.

As we trotted on a weekday evening, the place was happily beaming full! The preview was specially showcased for us prior to getting on the restaurant’s menu. What unfolded that evening, was a smorgasbord of culinary delights. The table for that evening was ‘literally overflowing with food, no exaggeration, as we tried and tasted over 20 platefuls!

For soups came in, bacon corn chowder soup (loved the crunchy and creamy combination) and for vegetarians there was the cream of mushroom soup (which can never go wrong). Beverages were concoctions like Bourbon sidecar (whisky cocktail), Tall Soldier (gin & vodka) – both get u high on that alcohol quotient.

The food began flowing in – chicken khaleeji skewers, Potts special Pani Puri (salsa filled puris, topped with sour cream and laid on hummus, mint-chutney water then to be poured over it!), cheese fingers with tomato chutney. Chicken 65 and Paneer 65 (which was sautéed in curry leaves), prawns butter garlic had gun powder all over them, vindaloo preparations in potato and pork (so no one misses out), Buffalo beef fry, Pepper chicken mixed with crackling spinach & garlic, crispy cottage cheese, vegetarian tempura, beer battered cottage cheese! What struck us the most was the beautiful fusion of global food and indian palates. Everything is a definite try!

The mains – Chicken Peri Peri with a lovely sauce, mashed potatoes (with green peas in them) and lots of sautéed vegetables; Honey Chipotle glazed chicken came in with the favorite macaroni and cheese; Baked Feta & soya roulade was innovatively cooked in “aloo-vadi” style; lastly the pasta roulade was scrumptious in the mustard curry cream sauce.

Chef Vinod Garde aptly keeps the needs of the locals in mind yet not missing out on whats trending world over. With 16 years of flamboyant work experience across brands such as Taj, Moshes, Basilico, chef made us special chocolate tempura marking the #worldchocolateday

#NuvoFoodies trotted over to British Brewing Company

British Brewing Company has its presence across Vashi, Thane and Goregaon. #NaviMumbaiFoodies trotted across all the locations to binge on some brilliant food.

Music, fun ambiance, very very courteous staff and linger-smacking food! What more can one ask for – yes that’s what your feel after spending a fabulous evening at British Brewing Company.

Infact its been fun evenings ever since British Brewing Company happened to the foodies. Meals have been delicious with finger foods like chicken satay (served with barbeque sauce), Hot Cheesy logs (filled with cottage cheese and basil), veg sampler platter with stuffed potatoes, paneer and mushroom (a whole meal in itself) and a must try. Wood fired pizza_BBC

When at BBC, one can-not just miss the wood-fired pizza specials. So we dug into the    thincrust options such as Veg Chefs special, Chipotle Chicken and Wild Mushroom  pizza.
